AR Charging Handles?

Get the Raptor!

The BCM is still a great charging handle but it's much more prone to snag on stuff.

The raptor isn't much bigger than a standard handle, but is 10 times easier to grab and manipulate. As well it has the same design geometry that makes the handle pull strait back rather than torque to the side like a standard one would if you do a single-handed palm-blade or pull charge. Also all the components (roll pins) are much bigger, you'll literally rip the upper apart before you break the handle!

It's the perfect combination of streamlined size and easy to manipulate. Even with Canada Goose winter gloves; no problem charging the thing (either side)! :D

I just read on another forum that the Raptor is the latest bit of AR kit to be cloned by the usual offshore scammers. They were even selling them on Amazon as genuine. I guess if you're buying used you'd better keep your wits about you or buy only from reputable dealers.

I've got the ambi BCM and love it, I'd trust the raptor just as much but never tried one...
The raptor has nicer curves but I doubt it's worth switching a BCM for.

Just checked...apparently they aren't too quick to update their site.

"Everything you see is In Stock and ready to ship! Unless clearly marked Pre-order!"

As at checkout they said they are out... The search continues...

Another vote for Raptor I have 3 now. I held off until trying one on a friend's rifle. I ordered 3 the next day. The other ones are decent but if buying new go for the Raptor.

So...

I bit the bullet and order (and just received) my Raptor from Cowboy Tactical Supplies...and WOW!
Only doing dry firing at the moment, but it is night and day ABOVE my Stag Arms oem charging handle. That, coupled with my new SSA trigger from Lanz Shooting, I do believe my mods are done. Now its time to have some fun!

Thanks for all the input and help guys.

Forget ordering this from Brownells. Last time I checked Rainer arms is not on there export list so they won't send you one. Your best bet is one shot tactical or the other cowboy tactical place. I forget the name right now.

The raptor is the nicest but pricey. I use it on AR's that my wife will shoot (as she's a lefty) and my higher end stuff. If it is just for me then the BCM Gunfighter CH is an excellent upgrade over standard (and somewhat less expensive).

Had a BCM med but I found it would snag and poke me in the chest while runnning without holding my AR in 3 gun. I switch to the Raptor, now snag and poke free.

Check out Cowboy Tactical Supply Kevin... Good guys there.
Playing around again this afternoon, and I still can't believe how easy it is to charge the rifle, with either hand, on either side no-less
