AR Compensator recomendation

The JM comp is $80 CAD now but there is a seller in Quebec who sells it for like $55 plus ship. I have two of them and so far so good.

I chose it because of this review and because of the cost.

I have used the BCM Compensator with success, not overly aggressive but effective and does not deviate too much from the birdcage in form factors.

Precision armament m4-72 has been great for me. Significant reduction in recoil and stays on target. I noticed a few of them on the firing line at competitions I attended this year. The truth about guns blog did a test and the m4-72 had the greatest reduction in recoil. The tradeoff is a lot of gas blowback that is very unpleasant indoors but is not an issue outside. Looking at doing the same on my 308.

I am very sure this has been asked and answered but I am now pondering the difference/relationship between recoil and muzzle rise. Bit of a thread de-rail.

They are independent forces and are compensated to different degrees based on the brake design. Some of the tests results on the web will measure each one independently and allows the user to choose a brake based on the degree of desired compensation. Other factors include noise, muzzle blast and dust signature.
