AR Course

We're planning to host a 1-day AR Armorer's Course, probably in January.

This will not be a full certification course which normally is 2 to 3 days. The one day course covers many of the same topics, is open to civilians (not just law enforcement) and will include a Particpation Certificate rather than an Armorer Certification.

Cost will be in the $100 to $150 range... Location will be in Barrie.... Details have not been finalized but we're hoping to firm up dates and cost by early December.

The course is the 8 hour TacticaLogic AR-15/M-16 Armorer's Course developed by Greg Lee.

Greg has an extensive (nearly 25 years) background in law enforcement and the US military (specializing in combat arms). This is the course offered annually to both IALEFI and ILEETA members at their Annual Training Conferences.

I was certified by Greg in this course... Alex certified with Diemaco in their Amorer / Operator Instructor course.

Course consists of...

History of the Rifle,
Nomenclature of the Rifle,
Cycle of Operation,
Clearing the Rifle,
Disassembly of the Rifle,
Assembly of the Rifle,
Cleaning and Maintenance,
Function Check the Rifle,
Detailed disassembly of the bolt carrier group,
Detailed disassembly of the lower receiver,
Detailed disassembly of the upper receiver,
Inspection and Gauging of the Rifle,
and Performance Evaluation.

I got assembling the lower reciever down Pat pretty much, i think I can do it from the guide on Ar-15.com The upper is another story will just buy one as i'm not going to get into all that.

I wouldn't mind taking the Course but my geographical location prohibits that.
