Can anyone tell me if this is legal to import into Canada and any other info in that regard?

If it can be imported;
Can I import it or does it need to be done by an import company?
Will there be any addition costs other than shipping, tax and duty?
Would I need and paper work for it?

Thanks!

It's a briefcase with foam in it. And I'll be damned if I am going to pull the barrel off every time I go to or come from the range, no matter how easy they make it.

hahahaha.
Obviously you are not tactical enough to understand.

Seriously? What looks like a standard briefcase with some foam in it for $300 ???

Add to that, as someone already mentioned, you have to remove the barrel to fit it inside.... insane.

However, if you feel compelled to acquire something like this, might I suggest you spend $45 on a standard briefcase (probably less on Amazon/ebay), and head to Walmart for a couple chunks of foam.

Really? Come on guys.......

This is a hand guard and adapters that allows you do a tooless barrel and hand guard removal in seconds. The case is purely an add on to the kit. They also offer the kit without the case.

Plus you can order extra adapters so that you can exchange different barrels and the hand guard comes in carbon fiber or aluminum.

You have a steel barrel extension and an alluminium upper. I don't care what they say, as a machinist who works with both alluminium and exotic metals, the more you put them together and take them apart the sloppier the fit is going to get. You would do better to get a longish tool box from Can Tire, and just split the upper and lower, and it is just as discrete and a lot less money, Just my .02

Crap, eh ?

You know, I don't give a bighug about the case, but I'm digging the quick change barrel system.

I'd like to get that kit with multiple barrel lock rings, so I can juggle barrels on the same upper.

Sure you could wear out the aluminum on the upper swapping out that much, but whatever, I would not use that system for an accurate gun that I baby.
I'd use it on a carbine that I beat on.

If you are buying this case to carry a gun with the intention of hiding the fact you are carrying a gun you are breaking the law!

Concealing a weapon is against the law in Canada, and yes a gun is always a weapon, and no your intentions do not matter. All that matters is that you are trying to make people think your not carrying a gun.

Thanks.

I understand the barrel change system, but like I said, "If you are planning on buying the case to carry a gun......"

The link you posted does specifically say
as well as covert concealment (DISCREET CARRY)

If you just want the kit for the barrel changes than by all means go for it, but many here assume you are after the case as well.

This post does not make a ton of sense.

If your intentions matter, then buy the kit with the intention of being able to transport your cased gun in a backpack.

If your intentions don't matter, then don't buy any gun cases, because if they're opaque, as required by law, then they're almost certainly obscuring the fact that you have a gun.

My post only concerns the case not the kit.

Only intent to conceal matters. Not intent to do harm, or intent to not alarm people, etc.

You could have good intentions thinking that concealing a gun is better to not alarm the public, but the intent to conceal is all that counts according to at least one judges ruling.

A gun case that is manufactured as such, and is obviously a gun case is not an issue. One that is manufactured and advertised to conceal a gun, as is stated in the OP's link, I would think could be an issue if the wrong cop took exception.

There is a court case and judges ruling on this type of thing that has been posted several times. I have read it many times, and argued the issue with many CGNers. I stand by my interpretation, as it is the same as the judges in the case, and could be used if the issue ever comes to court again.

Regardless this is not the OP's concern, so I have no intentions of derailing the OP's thread, and turning it into a debate over concealing guns, and proper cases.

Apologies to the OP.......

The question is; can this be legally brought into Canada. Not; can I run around with a concealed weapon.

Sorry, just trying to help. I was just pointing out the first obvious issue with the kit that I saw.

As far as importing it, why wouldn't it be able to be brought into Canada?

Trying to find someone to export it is a different story. The US export laws are usually the bigger issue.

Try IRUNGUNS, or Prophet River and see what they have to say.
