I have a AR I Built from parts Daniel Defenee upper and a Vulcan V15 lower
worked ok did all the tests then started to double tap. I tried several types of Ammo double every 3-4 rounds any one got a fix or a idea?

function test the gun,
take apart the lower from the upper, and test the trigger reset

try to make sure you catch the hammer in a gloved or clothed hand so it doesnt impact unnecessarily

pull the trigger all the way, and HOLD it all the way.

while still holding the trigger all the way down, pull the hammer back till it locks.

now release the trigger, it should click just a little bit

do this a few times, if the hammer drops any time after you let go of the trigger, you are firing on reset,

other wise could be bump fire, slam fire, or a few other things

Hi
I did the test it works ok I was thinking is the Spring to heavy and the bolt
not going back all the way?
Gerry

Could be:

disconnect worn
hammer upper inner notch worn
Disconnect spring missing, weak or broken
hammer and trigger pins worn
hammer and trigger pin holes worn

Try this:
Open the upper receiver
#### the hammer while holding the trigger to the rear;
slowly force the selector from semi to safe while holding the trigger;

If the hammer clicks onto the disconnect, it's probably good. If it fires the hammer all the way up, it will double.

Change the disconnect and repeat. Keep doing this until you figure out which part is out of spec.

$100 dollar Lower Parts Kit would most likely solve any issues with double shot. the upper has no way to cause this issue that i know of. worn disconnect/hammer connection or missing weak disconnect spring makes sense to me. could also be an out of spec disconnect or trigger. clear pictures of all your components taken at close up of the mating surfaces would help figure it out.

My issue with double/triple taps was a very ####ty quality disconnector that prematurely wore out after about 350 rounds.

Vulcan V15 lower

There's your problem. :p

If those guys are who I think they are (formerly Hesse), they've changed names multiple times over the years because their poorly-built lowers suffer catastrophic failures like cracking behind the pistol grip and in front of the receiver extension, etc. I've never seen a company with such a terrible reputation. You think all the crap about NEA on here is bad, do a google search for Vulcan/Hesse...

Here's an example:

Why don't you just come out and say it was the disconnector from your NEA shorty trigger group? ... Which brings me to ask if the OP picked up some of those soft 'n cheezy NEA fire control parts now wearing out prematurely and causing the gun to double.

The disconnector came out of my NEA PDW. It was clearly a bad piece.
