G'day friends, I'm looking for some flashlight and mount options for a 9mm AR. Having to buy things sight unseen these days, I dont want to spend a bunch of money on things that may or may not be compatible.

It's going to be mounted on an angstadt udp9 in the 1100 position. It's a 5.5" m lok rail so size will be a factor for sure. It doesn't need to be blinding bright because honestly, how much am I likely to be using this in the dark. Let's assume it's for 25 yard dark/dimly light indoor range. Never mounted a light on a firearm so I'm not sure if a pressure switch is something you would recommend or not.

I would also prefer to one-stop-shop to avoid paying for shipping from multiple locations. Cost wise I would like to keep it under $200 but after looking around a bit prices are all over the place, including mounts that cost that much. At that point I'd just duct tape an old fenix light and call it a day.

Thanks in advance and hope you're all keeping healthy and safe!

I bought a ,low lumen utg light and pic rail mounted it to my carbine. too many lumens imo can also blind you in critical situations if it is reflected off of mirrors and other bright surfaces. Also bought a removable one because I don't use it at the range.

Streamlight Pro Tac HL-X rail mount is a good option that won't break the bank and it comes with everything needed including the pressure switch.

Thanks for the reply, I actually ordered a streamlight protak rail mount 1 last night. I check the above posted thread and although there was a lot of great quality recommendations, most of them where the same price as a mortgage payment lol. Probably a great investment if your life was depending on it, fornme that wont be the case. I bought a cheap utg 4 slot rail section, hopefully it doesnt push it too far out that it looks silly but it was under $20 so we'll see what happens.

I know zero about these things but that looks like a good option. Is it possible to get these with AA style battery options? I think I would prefer that.

I looked into these a little last year as I was considering doing a night 3 gun match but in the end it didnt work with my schedule so I didnt pursue it any further.

I think this one is recharge or 2x cr123 batteries. The protac rail mount 1 can work with a AA battery but I think I heard that only has a 30-40 lumen output.

For AA options, you are pretty much limited to surefire m600 AA but it's expensive.

If you don't mind me asking where did you get it and what did it cost? Was looking around and the only place I found it is Amazon and I never trust the prices of stuff there until I've done some research.

I usually avoid amazon when I can support local even if it cost a little more, but it was the only place I could find it AND the mount I required in the same place. I could find them separately but the cost was not only a lot higher, but I would have been hit with 2 shipping fees rather than amazon free shipping.

After tax both the light and mount was pretty much 200, plus minus a buck.
