Hey all
I've been reading a bit on the net about AR's in general and I came across this post

If the short distance to the carbine gas port results in higher operation pressures and increased stress, why isn't the gas port simply moved further along the barrel?
Is it required that there be a minimum length of barrel after the gas port to ensure pressures stay high long enough to cycle the action?
Just curiosity on my part. Things that make me go Hmmm.
