AR gas tube length

I need a 11.5' inch gas tube for my barrel, is this refered to as a carbine length or rifle length gas tube?

My 14.5" uses the carbine length, so if your 11.5" uses standard handguards, I'd say CARBINE!

Rifle length is 20".

By "standard", I mean like standard M4 length...

I don`t think I was too clear, I need a 11.5inch gas tube when I was going to order one all I see for choices is mid-length, carbine and rifle.
So does carbine length gas tube mean the gas tube is 11.5 inches long?

Carbine gas tubes are 9.75" long and should fit barrels from 14.5" and 16". IIRC, 11.5" barrels also use the Carbine length tube.

Carbine gas tubes are 9.75" long and should fit barrels from 14.5" and 16". IIRC, 11.5" barrels also use the Carbine length tube.

Everyone seems to have a different name for the lengths of AR gas tubes, I ordered a mid-length gas tube and it`s 9.75' and to short to fit on my Armalite 16inch barrel. :roll:

Does anyone actually know the lengths of available gas tubes? I dont think the 11.5' gas tube I need is something special.

? AR pistol barrels must be?
9.75' must be mid-length
11.5' must be carbine
? Rifle barrels must be?

OZZ - a mid length gas tube is aproximately 12" long

A rifle gas tube is ~ 16"

and AR10 rilfe gas tube is aprox 17"



Gas tube sizes come in 4 stabdard sizes
Pistol (for 7.5" barrels)
Carbine (typically 10"-16" Carbine barrels)
Midlength (for the 14.5-18.25" midlength barrels)
Rifle (16" 'Disapator' to 24" Rifles)


For ordering Midlength gas tubes I would go to Wolverine Supplies as the Armalite distributor...
