Hello all,

I am putting together an upper with a short barrel (14") in a floating handguard. I have an old SP1 m16 upper (20") barrel gas tube. Can I cut the long gas tube to fit the short barrel? Any good info is appreciated. Thanks.
 
They are strong... you bending the tube would likely kink it.
You also need to flare the end.

As mentioned, a new tube is cheap and the correct way to do it.
 
Where do I get one? I checked Fabsport.....I don't see one on their site. The only thing I could think of is to buy at Brownells or Midway USA and ship it here. Any one who knows where I can get one here? Thanks
