Ar jamming problem?

I am having problems with my AR jamming. When I fire a round the case ejects, but sometimes it doesnt completly chamber the next round. This maybe happens on average of once every 30 rounds or so, sometimes it will do it three in a row and then be good for about 60 rounds. Very frustrating you can imagine. I bought the gun used in Feb and I have put about 400 rounds through it. Its an eagle arms 16" carbine with medium gas system, and Im using american eagle 55gr ammo, and new USGI mags. This is my first AR and I dont really know allot about them. Any advise you guys have would be greatly appeciated.

What specifically do you mean by 'doesn't completely chamber the next round'. Is the bolt just not fully locking forward, or is the tip of the bullet catching on the mag lips or chamber mouth? I think if you can better describe how its jamming it would be easier to help. I don't think its an ammo issue because American Eagle in my experience is very smooth feeding ammo.
 
Sorry, by not completly chambering the next round I meant the tip of the round gets stuck at the chamber mouth. The bolt sits about half open when the problem occours. As far as the mags go all 6 of my mags I bought new from wolverine. Do new USGI mags frequently have feeding problems?
 
like agilent one said, try to get other an ohther mag to try. the usual ftf problems are in order:

- mags
-crapy ammo
-faulty bolt
-or just plaine dirt in the gun
 
Try this simple fix and then get back to us....

Select a lubricant like LSA, CLP, Militec, Hoppe's Gun Oil.

Drop of lube on, bolt carrier rails, around bolt carrier key screws, bolt cam pin, couple of drops inside the bolt carrier where the bolt resides.

Cycle the action like crazy and distribute the lubricant.

Go and test fire. A Double Distinguished SF operator at CFSAC in 2002 told me to keep the bolt and bolt carrier lubed like crazy to keep the M16 working well.

Does the empty case always eject? sometimes eject and not chamber a round? or does it hang up with the live round like a double feed? A little more details would make the diagnoses much clearer
 
thanks for all your advice, the mags do have the green fallowers, and the empty case does eject when the problem occours. Im off the next couple of days so ill give it a good lube and head out to the range. all keep an eye on the mags in case its 1 or 2 in the bunch. I let you guys know if the problem continues.

How old is the gun? If you tap the forward assist when the rifle jams and the bolt flies forward, chambering the round and fixing the jam, the buffer spring might be worn out. Also, the bolt carrier might be dry, binding up in the upper. The bolt carrier and the surfaces where the bolt carrier and the bolt contact should be generously lubed with CLP. Remember, it's sometimes ok to run a gun dirty, but never to run it dry.
 
After getting my hands on the operators manual and learning how to properly lubricate my AR I made my way out to the range. I experienced on stoppage the 3rd round of the first mag ( maybe didnt cycle the action enough?). I fired 80 rounds total without any problems. I used considerably more lube than I was previosly, Im not sure how much is too much but I think I'll figure it out in the future. Thanks for all the advise from everyone who replied.
