I'm having issues with my AR15. The bolt is not consistently holding open on firing the last round in a mag. I tried cleaning and lubing which seemed to help, but consistency is still not 100%.
I ran it through a series of single round and two round mags (about 100 rounds in all) and ended up with about an 80% success rate. I checked to see if it was a mag issue but the problem did not seem to be associated with any particular mag.
If the issue is cleaning/lubing (and I suspect it is as the rifle has always worked well until now, and the round count is only 1000 or so), what areas should get particular attention?
So far I've taken apart the bolt, cleaned and lubed it, cleaned the upper receiver and wiped down the lower. I tried lubing the bolt catch and that seemed to offer some improvement as well.
Ideally I'd like the rifle to function as reliably and consistently as my Beretta Storm does ...
Any suggestions?
