Didn't the old La France M16k-45 come in .45 ACP? It sounds like it uses proprietary receivers though

Yes, .45 with Thompson mags. Do believe that early versions used regular old receivers but the magwell had to be opened up slightly because of the width of the mag. The bolt group looked similar, if not identical, to the Olympic system. A custom magwell block was used as well. I picked up an old LaFrance handguard off an M16K .45 with the thought that it would be nice to make a clone someday. Guy on arfcom made a similar conversion a few years ago with an Olympic upper.

Dlask was able to make a compact 9, but not sure how. It has been discontinued.
