AR mag problem

Hey guys, I was having problems with one of my 30/5 AR mags. So I decided to take it apart and clean it. Well I bent the tabs on the bottom and removed the floor plate.

The tabs broke. Is there any way to remove the floor plate without breaking the tabs

You should not be bending tabs to remove the floor plate.
You put the tip of a bullet into the floor plate hole then bend it up (the floorplate) so that the indent on the floorplate passes the magazine edge; the floor plate then slides out.

Those tabs were never meant to be bent.

You don't bend the tabs at all, stick something in the small hole on the plate and pry it up slightly and slide it back.

What about the mags that have the hole epoxied? Anyone drill these out before to clean the mag?

cool, thanks for the tip guys. I managed to salvage the mag as there was sufficient tab material left to bend over the floor plate. Now I know the right way to do it. Thanks again.
