Ar Magazine Costs in Canada

No one buys just one mag. It starts to add up when you buy 10 overpriced mags. I'm just glad its not like how it was 10 years ago when Pmags were even more expensive than there are now.

Overpriced? How so?

I have around 50 STANAG pattern magazines, about 20 Pmags, 20 USGI type, and the rest are various brands that came with guns I bought off the EE. I've never paid $50 for a STANAG pattern magazine and never will.

You want to see overpriced? Have a look at the price of the Korean made Beta-C copies, $200 for a 5 round magazine that looks cool. And guys are buying them all the time, just like the Magpul 60 round drums and the Surefire 60 and 100 fat mags. The prices are crazy just to have something that looks cool but still only holds 5.

You can buy Pmags at most shops for $25-$30.
Who gives a chit what they sell for in the US?
Want US pricing? If you really want to see why they cost so much I suggest you go to the US and buy 10 Pmags then claim them at the border and see how far you get. You don't just order them and they send them, there's a lot of stupid paperwork and a lot of departments with their hands out looking for a payment for doing their part of the process.

Seriously, if spending $25 for a magazine that will last you for years bothers you, you're in the wrong hobby.

If you think pmags are expensive at $25-$30 each, don't ever look at the price of HK pistol mags.

Or the Sig MPX 9mm magazines, last one I saw was $108 retail.

Why would you not spend $50 for a stanag mag? Would that mean its overpriced?

This thread is about complaining that they're $25-$30 which is silly. Don't try to take what people say out of context to make yourself right. $50 is overpriced but that's not the price of magazines today.

Those prices are from the big magazine shortage when BoBama was going to take away their guns and everyone south of the border started stockpiling so nothing came North.

I got a good chuckle back then seeing people trying to sell them on the EE for $100, then got a bigger chuckle when people were buying them for that price, Then almost hurt myself laughing when those guys saw the price drop down to $25 a couple months later.

PMAGs are like $17 USD on Brownells.

And?
That's about $23 CAD, I guess we're getting importation, shipping, pinning, and retailer profit margin for free?
Was that your point?

My point is, $30 CAD isn't outrageous, definitely not worth making a forum post about. Now Athlon scopes being 40% cheaper in USA, that's worth a thread.

You have no clue do you?

your the one with no clue travel the world and you will see how Canadians are gouged for everything

My example I needed window clips for my acura 8 of them local dealer wanted like $10.60 each I said no way called a dealer I used down in Georgia $1.10 each AND they had to come from the warehouse in Vancouver B.C (U.S dollar was on par then) remember book prices used to list Canada and us prices so when Canadians said hey our dollar is the same why are we paying almost double? the publishers solution was to remove the prices so we couldn't see we were paying more

Anything I don't need this second and can legally order from the U.S or Asia I do I'm sick of markups of hundreds of percent

Troy Battle mags. 3 packs, $20 per mag, 4 colours. Mine are great. My brother broke 2 on their first tactical mag changes. Hit and miss but his were replaced by Troy so backed by great customer service.
