AR Mags? Who's got em?

Have you ever used the metal ones? I have one and it doesn't perform as well as the PMags. Maybe there are some that are manufactured better.

Yes in depth. I have used metal mags for many years. I used Pmags in Afghanistan before they were available in Canada. The reason I was looking for metal mags is to solve some compatibility issues with both rifles and gear.

Was at TSE yesterday and they have lots. Take some off their hands!

The point I was making is that TSE (and ATRS) don't keep their websites up to date. If there are tons in stock, why are they not listed on the site? This is why they loose business.

Questar has lots of pmags. From what i have seen theese are the best mags you can buy. They are not to expensive either.

They are great mags, but just not what I am after...and certainly not from Questar, but that's another story.

I have seen this typo at least ten times this week...it's LOSE!!!

In fairness to small businesses who may not have the staff to keep their websites 100% did you call them? You know on a phone? :p

There should be a part 2 to the OP's question.

1. Who has 5/30 mags?

2. Does anyone sell them for a reasonalbe price?

Why is a mag that costs $15 in the US $50 here in Canada?
Export permits? What else? It doesn't add up.

Lets stop importing them and start manufacturing if they are so hard to get across the border.
Can't any of our local buisnesses manufacture a mag? There are a couple Canadian manufacturers that can build a quality AR, but not a reasonably priced mag to go with it? Do they all need to be imported from the US? Are they so complicated to manufacture than no one in Canada can build them? I've even seen retailers here in Alberta charging $45 each for Norinco mags. That's redonkerous! Those pieces of crap should be $10 each.

I'm really glad I ordered a pile of them from the US last year before they changed all the permit fees and added a bunch of restrictions. I got them for around $15 each including shipping for good quality new manufacture mags delivered right to my door. Those exact same mags are now $45 each from Wolverine.

We get screwed every time we buy something here.

I think no Cdn made because it would cost a ton to acquire the stamping tooling materials (including followers) labour etc etc & selling *at retail* for even $20 (that you can get a Magpul PMag for), such that you'd never make a fair profitable return until you'd sold at least tens of thousands and probably hundreds of thousands of units. Just guessing, I haven't costed it all out.

Judging by the number of fresh threads with people asking who has them and the number of WTB ads on the EE every week I think any manufacturer that could build them would sell thousands if they were priced reasonably.
I'm just sick of having to pay 3-4 times the price in Canada for the same product. I will pay a little more without complaint in order to help keep our local buisnesses alive though, just not 3-4x the price.

The manufacturers can afford all the tooling to build an AR so I am just guessing they can probably afford a stamping machine to build the mag bodies.

Some people just don't want a Pmag. I have around 20 5/30 metal body GI style mags and they work great in my AR's so I don't feel the need to try something new. I've never heard anything negative about a Pmag but I like to stick with what I know works and what my rifles continue to feed well from.
