I've read that with my M14 I should be sticking to ~170gr or lighter bullets, lots of use with heavier bullets can result in bad stuff with the gas/piston system.
What about in an AR platform? I picked up a .308 R25 with a 1-10" twist barrel, so it got me curious to try out some of the heavier long range bullets (175, 200, 210 and 220gr HPBTs). However because it's a semi-auto I don't want bad things to happen.
So should I limit the bullet weight due to increased pressures, or because this is not a piston system, are the higher weights fine?
