For all those making donations upon royal ascent and wanting to see the AR platform as non restricted here is a chance to have our message heard and maybe even acted upon.
Send in letters or emails with copy's of donation receipts and let the gov know that this popular platform is only restricted because of the prejudice and malice of a previous government.
Let them know that you want C-42 reclassification powers used to change a classification that will positively affect many more owners than SA & CZ combined.

already did a while ago they simply don't care to do more than they absolutely have to

That's why now is the time to put it to them along with their most successful fundraising day of the year.
They will quickly blow through that money campaigning and feeling the pressure of an election they will be thinking if only we had more money then the next thought will probably be how can we get more money?
That is the answer that the drive I am proposing seeks to answer.

And might be a good idea to have the barrel length requirement dropped from 18.5 to 14.5 inches before it is deemed restricted for semi auto centre fire and do away with prohibited class pistol

Personally I would say do away with barrel length laws completely, and follow the CSSA's idea of just an over-all length requirement of 26" minimum. That would put Tavors and AR's all of the same size is the same category and allow U.S. rifles like the ACR etc to be NR from factory.

Better hurry up before Angry Beard and cohorts get in and follow up on their promise to ban all military type semi-autos and all handguns! It wont matter what the barrel length, mag capacity or if AR platform type then! Same deal would come with JT!

There is no benefit for the CPC to give firearms owners more than they have to. In fact there is no political will on the issue. Firearms are seen by the CPC as a narrow issue to carry the vote with gun owners. The CPC is NOT pro gun. They deal with some firearms issues only to address a segment of identifiable voters. The consider balancing what they can in the issue and provide more than the Liberals or NDP would. That is the absolute limit on the political capital for the CPC. They will give something up in this election to secure the vote and will consider something else in the next election.

Does not hurt to remind them of how they could enhance their fund raising drive, if enough people do & they are feeling like they sure could use extra cash then our little extra effort sending a message along with our donations could pay off better than just sending them donations and letting them think that we want whatever it is they decide.

To clarify the benefit would be fundraising when it is needed most.

'Couldn't agree more.
Anyone who thinks the CPC is "pro gun" is delusional. At best they're just not rabidly anti-gun.

'Looking at the latest crumbs tossed our way that's just what I see... Crumbs.

Ooooooo.... No more ATT's. Big deal. Although redundant, who's ever been denied one..?
Taking away from the rcmp their authority to classify firearms and letting classifications be determined via OIC..?

Prepare for some rude surprises.

This. The CPC wont risk losing other voters to make gun owners happier. All gun owners already vote CPC and they know this. Risk/benefit just isn't there.

None of the parties are "pro gun", but the facts are:

-The NDP will push to ban semi-auto's and hand guns.

-The Liberals are likely to push for a ban on semi-auto's and hand guns.

-The CPC is unlikely to ban semi-auto's and hand guns.

Spot on!

Now we just need to get all the Fudds to get in line and see the big picture as most seem to want to vote Liberal and do not realize that once the ball starts rolling they will be next in line!

Finally! This is what we're dealing with and why gun owners support of "incremental reform" of firearms law is so goddamn stupid! We're basically telling the Conservatives to go ahead and treat us like dirt, abuse us and take us for granted as much as they want, because we'll never "quit them!" Battered Gun Owners Syndrome anyone?

And FYI, it is Royal Assent for anyone interested...

The RCMP dicked me around and denied me a valid ATT for 9 months. They gave me ATTs, but they were expired, or were missing info like my name. They did not deny me an ATT, but they didn't give me a valid one for 9 months.
