AR Noob - How do I remove RRA 7.5 Aluminum Handguard?

uhp908.gif

Which one the Houge? (on the upper right)

Take off the front sight (remove flash hider, tap out the taper pins) and tap the sight off...
Then remove the gas tube
Then the hand guard tube unscrews The hand guard back replaces the nut and delta ring.
your gonna have to replace them (barrel nut and delta ring) before you can install anything else..

RRA uses a YHM unit as well (lower left).. the process is not the same.. Will have to look at mine to remember but I believe it screws locks onto the delta ring but you still need to remove the sight...

Have fun
don't forget "taper pins!!" they only come out one way..
penetrating oil is a friend...
rubber hammer not brass...
and black pin pushers/punches not brass!

Righty tighty,lefty loosey ;)

You'll probably have to pull the gas block,it has either hex screws or pins,if it's pins, drift them out with a punch

You take the RRA FF tube off with a good strap wrench . RRA tubes are generally pretty tight , so you will need the proper "upper reciever vise block"

The best black to "clamp" the upper is by the upper reciever . I would be very suprised if you can get the tube off by having someone else grabbing the upper. Most come of easily but I have had one that required a cheater bar on the strap wrench !

Block looks like this

You will have to remove the gas block ( hex screws ) since the RRA railed gas block will not fit inside the RRA FF tube
