AR only shooting one round at a time

Thanks buddy will just order a gas block and put the sight back on. Wish someone in Vancouver had the tube. Will report back after I get the part.

I think you mean gas tube. Good luck, and don't worry, it'll shoot like it should after the new gas tube. Look into a 22 upper (I still haven't)

Ya that's what I meant, damn phone. Thanks guys, will report back.

Hey just got gas tube off and measured it to 9.75, I see that the mid-length are 9, would that be too short?

I was going to just try to unplug mine but can't find a hole in the thing. How does gas get into the tube?

I see this kind of thing happen on FN C6 gas regulators as well because people shoot them to #### and the holes in the regulators just get plugged up. Normally we can just use a small punch and a hammer or something and get it out.

thanks man, i will probably try to bang it out, don't even like the front sight, definately don't want to buy another.. just wasn't budgeting for a new tube, low pro gas block and a free float rail :)

Exactly. I have since sold the .22 conversion and bought an mk22. Will no longer be shooting anything other than .223 through it. Just want to figure out this problem.. saw a guy on YouTube do it with a pipe cleaner. Anyone think it could be anything else.

Too bad you sold it. I have a .22 LR conversion kit for my AR and put about 5000+ rounds of .22 LR through it. If you follow the manufacturer's recommendations and put some .223 through your rifle at the end of each range session it cleans out the gas tube and no problems.

If you wanted a dedicated .22LR upper you can get a pin for the gas block. I picked one up for my Spike's Tactical conversion kit just in case but have never used it.

i ended up trying to fix the gas tube and front sight. I couldn't believe how much crap was in there.. it was hard too, like metal, i had to bang it will a hammer and nail to loosen it up. I've got pretty good air coming out the tube now, just hope it's enough :) Just putting everything back together..

Would shooting plated .22lr, such as Minimags, lessen or prevent clogging the gas port?

Shooting Mini's or any plated boolits would produce less fouling in general compared to lead only. Plating seems to me to be easier to remove than lead with a foaming bore cleaner or copper solvent. Just be sure remove it all from any gas system ports and run them dry in an AR rifle. I run a few American Eagle plated rounds through any of my .22lr guns at the end of a shooting session as it seems to help get some of the lead build up out from shooting CCI Blazers all day.

Hey guys, just a follow up. Went out today again and rifle fired without a hitch. Ran a couple hundred .223 through to blow any other junk i couldn't reach with the hammer and nail :) thanks to everyone for all the help.
