OK, I get the Canadian dollar is tanking and the economies of scale will always favour the US, but let's get real here.

I went looking at an AR replacement gas block and I saw some in the US in the $10 range. These are apparently ITAR items and, since I don't want to get up close and personal with the BATF, I :( had to refine my search to Canadian vendors.

I now see what looks like virtually the same item in Canada going for $60. One site even proudly says "Made in Canada".

I don't mind keeping my limping loonie in Canada and really don't mind paying a bit more for something made here. But folks, six times the price? Am I missing something, or maybe Google brought me to the wrong lost of vendors.

So... you see a POS cheap gas block in the U.S. (yes, at 10$ it's going to be a piece of ####), then you see a probably adequate quality gas block for 60$ (the usual price for a gas block, for years now) in Canada and you COMPLAIN?

What you're seeing here is the lower quantity of cheap #### AR parts in Canada vs the U.S.

What "looks" like the same thing means jack (and the #1 reason why people complain that their AR doesn't run). I can make a gas block out of wood and make it look virtually the same as a steel gas block.

10$ for a gas block seem on the extreme low end. I never saw quality gas block at this price. 45-70$for a quality gas block is very reasonable in my book. It all depend on what you want for your AR. Some guys want the cheapest possible for many reasons and others want the better/high end stuff without looking at the price. There is nothing wrong with either choices...... Some peoples buy used KIA and others new Ferrari.

I love cheep a## ranters like this wonder why nothing is made in Canada anymore? your the reason. I go out of my way to buy as local as I can. wish more would do the same. 10 vs 60 I bet by the time it got here it would be almost the same price anyways

rant on rant on

$10 made in china aluminum V steel made in us or canada... Umm wonder why the price diff..

BULL#### ALERT!!!

OP check Brownells, they will ship a majority of the stuff down here. You can buy brand name stuff, even with weaker dollar etc and shipping+tax its much cheaper than some of the dealers in Canada charge for same damn thing.
