Just bought a couple of the short 10 round AR pistol mags, and a mag coupler from Questar. How in the hell do you remove the base plates from these mags so that the coupler can be installed? They look like they should just slide out, but they sure as hell don't.

I just received some of these as well. I assumed the plates had to come off and tried to find some instructions on the net.

I will try the small screw driver and try not to break anything!

The hole in the bottom of the baseplate is specifically designed to use the ogive of a .223 bullet as the "lever" to lift the tabs enough to slide the plate.

Now you tell us:confused:

I wondered what those holes were for, drainage?

I only bought 4 mags and two couplers. Should have bought 2 more.

Now I just need an AR!

This thread took me back to 1998 and basic training in St Jean.

We used an eye glass screw driver as we had nothing else.

300 mags in parts in a laundry tub and two bath tubs.

Those things were ####in filthy when they went into the bath.

pry light from the hole up and slide the base plate out, keep your thumb over the spring replace with new. I did mine last night
