FYI markl (and anyone else who might be interested), Dlask Arms Corporation in Delta, B.C. has a few custom made quad rails for the Carbon-15 pistol. I think they are going for $250, maybe a little less. I chopped off the top rail on mine like yours, and scrapped the ugly plastic oval handguard from the factory. It now has a quad rail with forward grip and BUIS. The handguards are a little skinnier than a standard carbine size, but they look and work great. Perfectly sized and fitted for the Bushmaster. He made a couple extra when he made mine, so I'm just passing the word around if and when you decide to change yours over.
