AR Platform for hunting

I have always loved the AR15 platform rifles and would love to be able to use one for my primary hunting rifle but as I understand it it is a restricted firearm & due to its stigma of being a military assault type rifle eventhough it is a semiauto (just like the other semi auto hunting rifle sitting next to it on the rack) it cannot be used for hunting.

Or am I wronge?

Remington has the new R15 I would be interested in in .223 Remington.

So a Panther Tac-20 would be OK for hunting?
I didn't see it on the Restricted List, unless I missed something.
20" barrel, .308, more than 26' overall.

The Tac-20 is restricted as an AR variant. It doesn't need to be specifically named in the list - it's a variant of a restricted, so it's restricted.

Not possible for hunting use. Do they not teach this stuff when you take your PAL course?

Not always, and if they do, it'd only be during the RPAL course.

That is true, they never covered anything like that during my PAL course. I had to find out on my own. I just assumed you couldn't own an AR until someone enlightened me to the "RPAL".

For all intents and purposes, an Ar10 would be great for hunting. You 'just can't' in Soviet Canukistan.
