What is the chance that the AR platform becomes derestricted. Several of us hunt coyotes hard and would love to use some AR rifles. Is it being considered? Any negotiations? Don't want to drop 3Gs on an ACR.

Write letters to you MP's, fax them, email them and don't stop.

I was told once that politicians are like stiff pricks, they go where they are pushed.

Not gonna happen. Not a chance in he'll that it will ever happen. It's too bad, but it is what it is.

Never give up. Educate. Write. Just another right removed from us that we must retrieve.

The comment on your signature is great! Lol! The logic is sound!

As for our rights removed. Yes, but i doubt anyone will reopen that legal angle in fear they may take away more stuff due to new evidence.

Getting the AR moved to NR is very straightforward I believe. Even more so now that it can be associated with the delicate economic recovery. There are manfacturers popping up everywhere in Canada who are building on the AR platform. If we were to phrase our efforts in a two pronged approach, highlighting the need to support Canadian manufacturing, and the fact that the current classification isn't consistent with current legislation, MP's would have to listen, and would do so favorably I believe.

This is how this battle must be won, by demonstrating how the current classification negatively affects Canadian business, and proPerty owners alike.

I hate to sound negative, but I worry the Conservative Party already have what they wanted from the a large single issue voting block, *some gun owners. I really hope they don't think we will remain satisfied and loyal with just the LGR gone...

I'm thinking they will have something new for us when we have to vote again. If not, they should be prompted with ideas.

CSSA is currently pushing to throw out the restricted and prohib lists and class all firearms using the criteria laid out in the current legislation. The current government is very responsive and Harper recently announced the hunting/angling committee, which may not be directly related but it's a positive step. I also seem to remember the CSSA and NFA now being included on a panel that advises changes in regulations/law. These people are listening so write them.

To all the naysayers: you're welcome.

Thankyou!

I pray they make it work.

Consider your good deed for today done Jager, you've prompted me to stop dragging my heels and step up and join the CSSA and NFA.

I don't make time to fight the good fight, but I can help pay for those who do.

That's the kind of war we are unequaled to fight on our own. They are like our own high tech army of modern warfare.

Keep up the good work guys!

My MP has gotten an earful on this from me, as well. I have also mentioned to him that the RCMP are tremendously biased and should not be involved in classifying new firearms. I suggested a non-partisan group made up of firearms experts from industry be the ones to classify new firearms, since they understand the technical specifications and will do it based only on technical features instead of bias and agenda.
