AR Problems

What about extractor tension. How's the extractor spring? Is the extractor claw intact without any residue build up?

Adding a D-ring, or an extra power spring and insert. An plumbing O-ring of a size that fits around the extractor spring would do it too.
In short barrelled ARs, dwell time is short and the pressure generated in the case does not dissipate in time with the extraction process and the extractor rips off the rim of the case trying to extract it. This is where heavy buffers come into play to slow down the bolt and carrier's travel.

Another thought... if the bolt will not lock back on last round, check that there aren't any burrs on the bolt catch impeding its movement.
