so who has the best price on upper and lower ar15 receivers right now. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be appreciated. I am not looking to buy a norc so please do not suggest it.
Cheers, James.

thx for the replies, Rivtec78, yes there are dalers above I am looking to hear from people who have bought receivers recently. You are right it is not hard talking to a sales person, if that was my goal there would be no post. Spikes is a good product though. I will check it out. Thx.

The AP lowers (and stripped uppers) are FANTASTIC. I've used a half dozen on builds for myself and others now and the quality has consistently been excellent. they are in-spec, forged 7075, and type III anodized. Hard to beat for $145. Like most Tier 1 manufacturers do, these are also threaded for spring retention screws if you like that sort of thing. I don't bother installing them though as I consider then un-necessary parts and one more thing to go wrong.

AP makes receiver for other manufacturers as well who re-brand them as better known AR's. They are not bottom tier. AR's are only a small part of their business. Their largest client is Boeing who contracts them for complex CNC machining of aircraft parts. I nthat respect, they kinda remind me of Fairchild (who built the AR10) and NEA.

Here's a neat link:

Interesting comment on who they supply lowers to in the interview:

Ben (reporter): Out of curiosity, would you mind sharing some of the names of your customers?

Scott (AP employee): I'm actually very proud of who we deal with but we've signed NDA agreements so we can't reveal any of their names.

I guess some manufacturers don't want ppl to know their lowers are actually outsourced to other makers... lol. Happens more oftne than you think, even by Tier 1 manufacturers ;) Here's a hint... Armalite and Spike's both get their lowers from ap (!)
