If you have definitely decided on the Stag, I hear they are great for overall quality.

If you are still looking around, check out the LMT offerings by Questar.

Just got mine from Mark and looks great so far. Still have to take it out to the range though....

;)

The 16" bbl is probably your best overall compromise for the ranges you're talking about. As for Bushmaster, if you can be sure its of recent production, its worth taking a shot. Not so long ago, Bushmaster was having major quality control problems. They seem to have licked the problem with their most recent stuff, but I'd make sure to check everything over very carefully before I purchased their product. If buying from a store/dealer, check on their return/warranty policy before buying as well. You don't want to buy it, take it to the range and find that you've got a lemon that you can't sell without losing your shirt and can't get fixed without sending it to the US with a 8 month turnaround.

thanks xman!

I ordered myself a 16" Mid Length Armalite upper from Wolverine the other day. Can't beat the price and I got one with a T Marked Upper and the last one with a A2 front and birdcage flash hider. :D

hey xman, he recieved it last fall, so he says it is last summers run. is this of "recent" manufacture? i think i may go for the 20 inch barell, and just buy another upper at another date. that way the zombies will still be at bay even from 500 yrds.:p

As mentioned, most of the major brands are similar in quality. I have an Armalite and a Rock River and am happy with both. Then again, one's a .223 and the other a 9mm so can't be compared other than fit and finish and both are top notch.

Contact the links above as both places offer great service and are very helpful.... Wolverine (Armalite) and Questar (Rock River).
