geeze... this is a tough call....im back and forth on my options...
i want to see the vortex 1-4 scope again and see how i liked it...cant really remember...
i was just playing around with my vortex sparc and 2x and i get double vision with it when both eyes are open at about 15yrds (ahhhh 2 zombies and the one on the right wont go down!!) but it seems that at 20 yards it improves.. both eyes open i was ok with the 2x on, this makes me wonder wat the 1.25 would be like, will do the same thing or not? only 1 way to find out.
im off on wednesday so im going to go handle the leupold vxr and the burris Tac 30. from what i can tell the Mtac only has a on/off switch upgrade... doesnt seem to be worth $100 more for the same scope, but we will see.
i still may consider getting that MTAC, mount and burris reflex site combo...and have a 1-4 with angle mount reflex, then i can get a redfield 2-7 or 3-9 to put in my other burris QD mount... swap them around as i please.
anyone know of any other mount, reflex sight combo for about $700??

I you want to run a scope and small RDS, look at the Warne RAMP mount. Had one for a while and liked it quite a bit. Not too easy to find however.

For the scope I've found the Leupold VX-R Hog for $340 at my local gun store.
1.25-4x20mm, 30mm rings to mount, no illumination.

Now, to me I could be wrong, Leupold is on the higher end of quality scopes (without going to the ridiculously expensive US Optics, Schmidt and Bender, Nightforce, etc), so good quality, and, again personal preference (no experience), I like at least the idea of the 'Pix-plex' reticule for a semi-auto gun. i.e. Normal crosshairs for precision work, and a wider circle for a faster sight picture.
