Had a chance to take out an AR-SKS adapter set up on a Russian SKS, kept the wood stock on for the purists, LOL. The adapters have a last shot hold open, drop free & allow stripper clips to load your mags, hey, a built in mag loader.....in 200 rds, the only failure to feed were the first round from stripper clip loading 10 rds, we found 8 rds fed much better into the XCR mags, but all 10 go if you fiddle a bit. Way too much fun!

looks cool! on the other hand... so much trouble and $$$ in order to shoot rifle's original capacity :[

Yes, but now you have a 10 rd detachable mag, push button release & can still load a full stripper clip. Dont forget the original rifles capacity in Canada is only 5....

very nice highcal :) looks awesome , i'd love to put one on mine. maybe the wife will let me get it for christmas :)

Seems a little silly that we can't just take the damn pins and rivets out now doesn't it??? If we can do this legally then we should be able to put 10 rounds in the standard box mag but i guess when you slip through tight loop holes it just feels nicer :p hahaha

I put it into prospective this way: I recently bought a Norinco T97, it cost me $800 which is very cheap. So for $800 I was able to shoot 10 rounds of .223, which I can't hunt with in my province. It was at best a 6MOA rifle, and that is being very kind to it. My unrefurbished SKS cost me $280, another $280 for the mag adapter and I have a rifle that shoots 10 rounds of7.62x39, which I can hunt with, at worst it is a 4MOA rifle at 100 yards, has a good sling and decent sights compared to the T97. Where else are you going to get a semi auto 7.62x39 rifle with 10 round capacity?

Yup, SKS is hard to best. If you don't go overboard with mods and keep them to practical & functional upgrades SKS is a great deal within its limitations.

I like this magwell setup but don't really want to start getting creative with a dremel.

Where else are you going to get any other semi auto 7.62x39 rifle for under $1000, let alone after customizing it etc....

I ordered a kit with 3 mags.. Didn't know I had so much work to do.. Looking forward for a video.

Be careful though, when I bought it I didn't notice there was work to be done like this. Maybe I missed it, others might miss it too.

Yes, I think maybe you did...

Anyone with some skill, a dremel & some time can do the conversion, we show everything you need to do in our install vid & pictorial, they run flawlessly & make your SKS like a different gun!

This is the first I've seen or heard of this mod and I was ready to buy it and put my gun in my Bridgeport and be done with it, but then I saw the price tag. Great idea, great product but for me, just a little too spendy for me for my $200 gun that has already creeped up to about a $700 gun LOL. So let me know if you ever have a sale or want to send me one for free and I'll machine some of your customers rifles for you that are local to the Niagara region ;) ;) ;)
