AR sniper/long range setup

Not sure if this will be the right topic area, but I hope so.

Just wondering if anyone has a recent sniper type setup for the AR.

Especially interested in the stock options for such a setup.

Magpul PRS is a popular stock for precision work. Thumbwheel adjustable length of pull and cheek weld. Also has 3" length of rail near the butt for attaching monopods and the like.

I really like mine.
 
I also like the A2 stock for precision AR rifles.

My precision AR rifles are currently both AR-10 models. A precision AR-15 will probably be in the future though.
 
Agreed on the PRS, couldn't get low enough behind the SRS. Not saying the SRS was not nice, just like the Sleekness of the PRS a little more.
 
Colt AR-15 HBAR 20 inch barrel 1in7 twist. Scope set up for 600 yards with see through scope rings to view my iron sights. Iron sights set for 200 yards. Getting 4 inch groups at 600 yards using 68 grain bullets & Varget powder as long as I do my part.

Very true. I'm sure the rifle can do lots more than I can at the moment (and well into the future as well).

Unfortunately, I don't have/take enough time to shoot so I'm more of a collector for now and just getting a safe full of interesting firearms to shoot with "soon". (anyone want to part with a USC?? :) )

In order to pass the time, I try and sell things and buy things to fill my safe with.

Save your money. A match trigger (RRA 2 stage minimum) and good optics will do more for your shooting than a different stock. The A2 fits me well and gives a good cheek weld. Here are two of my precision AR rifles. Both are AR-10 style.

It is unlikely (IMHO) that you will be able to take full advantage of your rifle with the monopod setup as it appears there.

An A2 style stock (Or an E2 style) with a sandbag below it will provide rock stable support.

Any collapsible stock has some play in it, and that will lead to imprecision.

YMMV, but that's been my experience.
