AR soft case

In this case but if it was for an AR?

The law requires you to use a container...

...(c) it is in a locked container that is made of an opaque material and is of such strength, construction and nature that it cannot readily be broken open or into or accidentally opened during transportation

The test above is a conjuctive test....meaning a locked container is required and it must not be easily broken into.

Check black's law dictionary on what a container is, and then also consider that a court would apply the spirit and intent of the law (possibly).

Has anyone on here personally had an issue with LE when transporting their restricted in a soft case? Trigger/action locked, ammo in separate locked container, soft case locked...etc? Sounds like many use a soft case this way but I'm curious if any one has encountered problems.

Another vote for VooDoo Tactical. Very good value for the money. I picked mine up in the US for $65. They are sized to fit perfectly inside a Pelican Case (without foam).

Jeez, so a soft case with locks is or isn't allowed for restricted transport? Very confusing. Just ordered a 42" Voodoo Tactical Deluxe. Would be nice if I can use it to transport my AR's.

If the case is lockable and requires tools to open, then the legal threshold for legal transport of restricted firearms has been met. If we're talking about a locked "tactical" nylon "weapons" case transporting an AR-15, if a knife or box cutter is required to cut it open and access the firearm you're 100% compliant.

Just picked up a couple Condor double rifle bags from TacPro (thanks Dean!) this morning. They're built pretty sturdy with ample padding. Waiting till I get home to give it a once over with a fine tooth comb. I went with the Condor over the Voodoo because the pockets are removable and I can add/subtract whatever molle pouch I need. The nice thing about Voodoo having sewn in pouches is that they don't move around like molle ones.

a buddy of mine once wanted to go to the range and when i picked him up he had all his shotguns , sks, rifles ect in a hockey bag with no trigger lock lol i said fu.. that where going to crappy tire to get some cases, luckily they where like 20 bucks a case. but can you imagine the look on the range officers faces when someone starts pulling out short barreled shotguns with pistol grips, shortened sks ect out of a old old hockey bag with holes lol. i need better friends.
