Im finishing off my SPR project and Im undecided as to the best Bipod. Ive got a standard Harris bipod with a Knights rail adapter, but am looking at others. Versapod looks OK, but Ive found that the GG&G might be the best:

Anyone have experience with this?

BTW does anyone know if Harris makes a matte or parkerized model. Ive only been able to find shiney blue.

Weight isnt a concern as Im running a 20" (1X9) HBAR.

Thanks Sparhawk. I noticed them as well, any idea as to where they may be available to Canadians?

I was unsure if they were the same as the TDI (Isreali) manufacturer.

Any idea Availability? My Harris will be replaced :)

Any update on the TD bipods?

These look to be good although non-adjustable legs.

Are they the same as the TDI bipods (Isreali made I think?)

I have a TD bipod ;)

- they are IMHO the new gold standard for bipod for the AR/Mk setups.

Tango Down is a US company owned by Jeff Cahill (who is a GREAT guy BTW)

The legs do adjust on the TD.

FWIW USSOCOM initially issued the SPR/Mk12 with the VersaPod - but they where to fragile for a field gun and where quickly replaced with the Harris and KAC mount on the Mk12 Mod1 and the ARMS mount and Harris on the Mk12 Mod0.

Larue make a good Harris mount too...

After managing to get my fingers crushed in the Harris Bipod assembly (with front grip), Im even more dedicated to finding a replacement bipod.

No one seems to list the Tango Down Bipod (not even their website), any leads for this product?, it seems that the bipod is out of the way when retracted, and folds between the bottom and side rails.

Rock Creek SOPMOD Bipod

You might want to give the Rock Creek Barrels SOPMOD Bipod a look although from apperances it may look like a Versa Pod it is not .All steel construction and a innovative method of attachment

I was fortunate to be given one  while I was at the Shot Show awesome Bipod :D But a word of caution the legs are spring loaded and could cause personel injury when released

I think Ive sustained enough injury from my Harris Bipod :(
Althought the mounting system is interesting. The TDI rear folding bipod is also of interest.

By the way, the neighbors in Albany, WI must be cool. If I took a picture of my AR in my driveway ... pointing at their houses, I would probably get a visit from the RCMP! Viva USA!!

Got my hands on a TD Bipod. Pricey but itll definately be worth it. Range report to follow.

For those of you that have one mounted on a full lenth rail is it best to mount it midway so that the feet fit right into the delta ring assembly?

I've fiddled with one of the TD bipods here. It's a nice solid piece of kits. Mounting one on an ARMS might be a bit dodgy as I believe not all of their rails are done to spec. They some of their own wierd proprietary stuff with some of them. I can't remember which ones are off though.

Wayne, I will copy the article here I have.

The original Rock Bipod is a Modified Steel Versa Pod that was designed in conjuction with Keng's Firearms in the U.S.

Now I am unsure whether he is actually making his own copy at this time.

Dave's Surplus here in B.C. has one of the TD bipods instock.I looked at it last Saturday.

I will stay with my Harris as I rarely us a bipod (I prefer shooting off my ruck).Or maybe I will look at the GGG bipod. have had several in my hands and the are WELL made and work quitye well.

SKBY.
