AR Style Shotgun For Skeet

I thought of taking my AR style shotgun to the skeet range, just to see the reactions.

Unfortunately they banned it first.

Come on eh, he was just funnin' with youse guys!

Huge fan of red dots for clays. Focus on the target dynamics improve situational awareness making transitioning to other rapid clays is vastly better then looking down a bead. Additionally knowing holds using slugs on a red dot is also significantly improved. Holding wild 6 o clock vs a known drop red dot, adjustable zeros...etc , just no contest.

If by AR style, the op means a pistol grip and mag fed, I'll suggest thats erroneous since matches like 3gun are better served with those because tube fed 3.5 shotguns tuned for 3gun are much harder to find vs a janky but functional mag/pistol grip shotty which are currently far cheaper to get into. If 3.5 inch 5.9 rounds semi tubes with tuned beveled ports found for less then 1k, maybe argument will hold more weight. Finding good new over unders are also too expensive for new comers. I think the key element is the price of admission shouldn't be so high to prevent more people from coming out.

2 cents.

I have honestly never seen anyone run even 25 straight at skeet with a red dot, and the best clays shooters that I shoot with, don't try and use the beads as sights. And an over/under certainly isn't required for any of the clays games, a semi auto is just as capable, and you can find an SX-4 or similar semi auto for a reasonable price, and there are very low priced semi autos that would be more practical for clays or hunting, than an AR style shotgun.

some are better built than others will it be chinese or turkish ones.

Heres how it goes... importer brings out a complete garbage brand like revolution arms. They sell the lot and a bunch come back with issues. The brand is tarnished so they have the factory slap a new label on it and claim its the new best thing ever. We then buy up the new brand and the cycle repeats itself. Winchester made in turkey is not to be compared to the planet of the apes looking shotguns we see
