It'll work fine with the majority of .223 ammo available commercially....55Gr. or maybe 62....some will work well up to 69Gr.
The 1:7 is only an asset if you plan on using 69 or 77Gr. rounds. The faster twist is required to stabilize the heavier bullets.
Of course...all of my AR's have 1:7 twist. Why....because I can!:
