As for non restricted, they are on the hit list to. But at least they are not registered. Take that as you will. For a non restricted black and red guns I would choose a Tavor or a VZ58 in 7.62x39. Both are dead nuts reliable.

I seen tavors kaboom(1 or 2) , I seen many crappy csa vz58 with a bunch of issue and cz 858 with "the gremlin" that you needed to unbend thesear spring. I would probably grab 1 sks for $#it and giggles then a stag 10 or build a atrs modern sporster.... but honestly the tavor is a great service type rifle.

if there was crown or private land readily available I would agree 100%, but for the individual who is limited to only using ranges it doesn’t make sense. You can purchase two Rs for the Price of one NR’s.

I do have access to crown land, I’m lucky to live in a valley surrounded by mountains. I didn’t really think of that when considering my opinions but that is a very good point!
