Will be ordering a AR15-870 tonight.

Are they compatible with ANY stock tube, stock and grip, so long as they are to spec?

out buffer tube thread is a combo of both mil spec and civi, all 3 of the companys making stock adaptors are useign this spec now..Cav arms SST, Mesa tactical and S&J hardware.
will fit any Buffer tube.
If anyones waiting on email reply from us, will get back toyou over the next day or so, trying to get a very large order shipped out to the US dealer this week, has taken up more time then we had hoped.

How exactly can it be a combo, if the thread is always 1-3/16"-16? Both commercial and milspec tubes have to thread into the same receiver, it isn't like the spec changes when it comes to the thread.

sorry to say but your wrong about that.
When most people talk about mil spec v civi buffer tubes they are not talking about the threads, but the specs on the body.
But there is allso mil spec v civi AKA made in china thread pattens.
The thread is different and most times both will fit with no problem, but when you get somthing that is machine rather then taped, Like a stock adaptor on the endine buffer. The mil spec or civi can be to tight or too loose and bind.
So the "combo thread) is mil spec pitch with flater edge so both mil spec and civi will fit.

Dude, what are you talking about? Both your original post and mine are talking about threads, not the diameter of the tube ("specs on the body").

How exactly is one metric thread that came on one model, the Norinco CQ-311 a "civi" pattern?

And it seems you are implying you can mix and match the one off metric thread and the standard thread which is obviously bogus.
