I always felt that these pins might be a solution for a problem that never existed.... will they help my scores in competition ?

I'm too old and beat up to deploy to Azkrakistan....

My 2 cents worth (giggle giggle)

NON-ROTATING-PIN SET - Hammer and trigger pins are threaded on each end for locking screws to eliminate rotation and wear to receiver holes. Especially important for increasingly-valuable M-16 and pre-ban receivers; includes a lube port to ensure adequate lubrication reaches the hammer and trigger. Anti-spin, anti-creep retainers fit outside the receiver to prevent all movement.

Does this explain it? Took it off Brownell's web site.

KNS Anti Rotation Trigger and Hammer Pins(.154 diameter). Replaces standard hammer and trigger pins. KNS anti-rotation pins eliminate all wear on receivers. Over time receivers pin holes wallow out causing poor trigger performance. KNS anti-rotation pins feature oiling ports to ensure smooth and consistant operation for the life of the weapon. Pins are SST. Included are two allen wrenches and starter pilot for ease of installation.

And this one is from another site. Seems like a good idea for high volume shooters..

Note this was designed for the M16 as full auto fire hammers the pins so unless your AR is full auto and you have in excess of 10,000 rnds thru in auto fire .The KNS pin's solve a non existant problem, IMHO if they did solve a problem why hasn't the US Army ,USMC or SOcom adopted them

I think these fill a need in the US where FA lowers for civilians can cost $10000 or more, and you really don't want the lower to wear out.
Up here in 5 round semi auto land, it really is not needed. But if you really want to keep your pins from rotating within the reciever, just put a *very* small amount of Loctite Sleeve Retainer on one end of each pin before pushing it in fully. I have tried this, expecially on the hammer pin, and it works perfectly. And it still allows for the pins to be removed by hand. Keeps the hardened hammer and trigger parts rotating on the hardened pins, for a longer reciever life.

I have a set of the KNS pins in one of my rifles. Bought them because they were cool :). No other reason really. I should say that they are very well made, machined to an amazing tolerance, and come with a pointed slave pin attachment that makes installation very simple. I like the oil port as well. The pin is filled with a quantity of oil which is released into the bearing surfaces of the trigger and hammer.

They allowed me to use an M16 hammer that I had, which came without the J pin that is used to secure the hammer pin. The KNS pins solve that little problem.

+1

I've also done this and it works incredibly well.
Knock the pins out a few mm's then a dab of blue loctite on either end, push the pins back into place, allow to dry, wipe off excess and presto!
