I've just put together my new STAG-15 with a IOR 1.1-4X26 mounted on a Armalite 1 piece scope mount.

The problem is that I can't install my ARMS #40L backup rear sight because the scope is too low and there is only a 4mm gap between the scope and the flat top rail.

I can only think of 2 possible solutions:

1: Get a 1/2'' riser. That would also help getting the front sight out of the FOV when I'm looking through the scope but I really like the height of the scope right now and putting a QD scope mount on a QD riser will look ridiculous.

2: Return the #40L sight and get a QD backup rear sight that fit in my MIAD grip instead. If I choose this option I'l need your help to know which rear sight to buy.

I thought of a smaller flip up sight but because the gap under the scope is so small, it is impossible to find one that will fit. Even the KAC 300m wouldn't fit.

Any suggestions?

Too high. As I said, I've got only a 4mm gap under the scope and the scope ends right over the cocking handle. No folding backup sight that I know of will fit under there.

Could always screw it on somewhere else on the rail, and stick the allen key in your grip. Then put it on where it should go if you ever need it.

Just run it without the buis. Chances are you won't need to transition to your irons in a "for real" situation. The idea of storing it somewhere else on your rifle is just silly. The reason for back up irons are just that, back up. Your optics took a dump, now you need to use the irons asap in order to take down a threat. If you have time to remove the buis from the rail or your pistol grip, you most likely don't need one. I am not writing this to be a ####, just rational.
YMMV,

Well ya, I kinda figured he wasn't using it 'for real'. If his optics took a dump in a range setting, which is what I'm guessing it would be, he'd have time to swap it over.
