AR15 barrel length

What's your favourite barrel length? Elaborate if you wish..

I have owned 20", 16", and 11.5".
Using iron sights I shot just as well with the 11.5" and it balanced better for me.
I would like to get a 14" one day.

I had a 20", 16.1", 14.5" and 10.5", I like the 14.5". Compact and does not sacrifice performance.

14.5,its got the right look,and balance for me.would like to try out a 16"mid-length.Think that would be the way to go.
11.5 for "COOL"points.

Well I have a 7 an 11 a 14 a 16 and a couple of others and I think the 14 is just about right for balance.... for me... But I'm starting to look like the big airsoft guy (or that stay puft marshmellow man) So if I start walking to work maybe I'll like the the 16 again....

I sure hope you aren't talking about ballistic performance or terminal performance. Both results fall far short of that produced by a 16" or 20". Accuracy has little to do with barrel length. Its about velocity which is affected by barrel length as well as projectile mass.

Still have the 20 incher, I like long range shooting, but I like the look of the 14

16 inch middy, state side-able. 20 is too long for range fun. <16 is too short to go to the land of full capacity mags

I love my 16" middy,
11.5" with KFS (for blast reduction) is almost as long as 16", but it's cool looking.

Like Furet & Powerwagon, I love my 16" middy length....does everything I need it to to up to 500m. Life is good... hey , at least we can own them for the time being.

I still like my 14.5" best, more look cool factor and balanced look, the terminal performance seems about equal to my 20" on the targets that I and most of us ever shoot (paper and/or gongs).

I too have a 14.5". The mid-length does look better than a 16" carbine. They just look too long. I know its only 1.5 inches in difference but it sticks out.

As for performance. Work with me here, we will get the chance to once again use our "black rifles" outside a range environment, oh yeah, I feel it, no sh*t, its gonna happen, work with me, come on!....

I don't own any ARs (although I do have a 180B on order), but anyway I like the look and ballistics of longer barreled .223s. I've always thought the 20" ARs looked the coolest.

I hear you, it sure would be nice to take my AR15 with 30 round mags out to shoot gophers again like before doublewide Kim Campbell screwed us, I really hate stupid gun laws.
