Anyone ever have an ar15 bolt breakage, or firing pin? I'm just wondering what the value is in purchase a bolt to stuff into my magpul grip. I've never had one break or heard of one breaking. Just looking for some personal insight into what happened, if it's worth it or what have you.
Let me know.

Do you foresee yourself getting into a firefight at your local range, where you are unable to access to your range bag immediately? ;)
Otherwise spare parts box in your range bag is more than adequate.

Have not broke a bolt yet but have had a firing pin retaining pin break, and yes I did have a spare. AR parts are fairly cheap and plentiful right now. Buy what you can now, a AR bolt can be had for about 70 to 80 bucks searching the banners above right now. Good insurance to have.

Bolt breakage is the most common component failure on our range ARs. Having said that, it typically occurs at 20,000+ rounds. It's nice to have a spare, but they are not that hard to find if you end up needing one.

If you're attending a match or a course, it's relatively inexpensive insurance so your day isn't ruined by a parts breakage.

I saw a Colt break a lug off its bolt during a big match. Shooter lost some shots as a result. Another shooter had a spare bolt, got the rifle going for the next match. No harm in having a spare. Probably never need it, but you never can tell.
