I'm hoping the AR15 gurus can help me out...the ejection port cover replacement was straight forward enough (thank you Youtube), but I can't seem to get the c-clip back on the rod. I've tried tweezers, fine pliers and small screwdrivers. It looks like it's on, but it keeps coming off. Any suggestions? Thanks Nutz.

You'll probably have to replace the clip, small c-clips like that can only be taken off and put back on once or twice before they lose their tension.

No magic, just line it up with needle nose pliers, when it catches, push it on with something flat. mine all have just snapped on.

^^^ This. I removed the clip 'cause I found it less work than having to remove my rail/barrel nut etc. Took a few tires to get that clip back on.
