AR15 essential spare parts

to make it easy without naming all the individual parts...grab a spare BCG and LPK and you'll be fine.

Extractor and gas rings. Maybe extractor pin and cam pin if you have the tendency to lose stuff.

BGC and LPK are not needed.

I beg to differ...extractor and gas rings are part of the BCG...I've actually blown out the bolt (sheered lugs) before gas rings or extractor. Some guys have gas key issues. Some guys have there stock shoot loose and end up losing the buffer retainer when they open the rifle. There could be a myriad of issues that arise. I mention those parts as they include everything you could need in one easy purchase. Why buy all the individual parts? It'll end up costing you more in the long run thanks to shipping costs.

I usually keep a spare firing pin, gas ring, extractor spring with the rubber plug thingy. I've also got a spare full BCG I can salvage off another rifle if needed in a pinch. Heck, I just take two rifles to the range. :)

I keep a lot of spare parts, but I dont think That I need all of them. With all spare parts that I have, I can probably build another AR15 if I buy another lower lol.......

Essential parts are:

Gas ring (minimum 3)
Extractor, extractor spring (or a spare bolt)
Firing pin
Cam pin
Disconector
Hammer
Hammer spring

Except for the bolt all theses parts are cheap to buy and very usefull if you are a high volume shooter.

Too complicated. Just buy another AR.

Bolt head Complete but if you want to go cheaper then 3 gas rings, extractor complete, firing pin retaining pin and spare cocking handle assembly.

I keep a small pocket sized container in my range bag with spare firing pin, firing pin retainer, full set of trigger springs, 3 gas rings, extractor and extractor springs and a mix of other random but what i feel are not essential parts.

A spare bolt could be useful but honestly at the range where life safety isn't an issue I'll just take the bcg out of one of the other two rifles I'm not shooting at the moment. Isn't that why they say one is none, two is one, three is two
