AR15 flash hider on AR180B

who posted the pics?

has anyone mounted a Harris bi-pod to the stock fore arm?
Does the pistol grip interchange with an AR15?
Thanks

I have seen a couple of 180B's with Harris bipods. I think they just installed a swivel stud in the forearm, screwed into a small metal backing plate on the inner side.

Please read before threading barrel!!

By Canadian legal definition, the barrel is measured from the bolt face to the end of the rifling. By this definition, the AR180B barrel is 18 1/4 inches long, and prohibited. How ever, as the muzzle brak is an integral part of the barrel, this put the AR180B barrel over 18.5 inches (the legal limit for a centre fire semi-auto)

If you thread the barrel, cutting the barrel back to the end of the rifling will be too short! you must leave some of the muzzle brake extension intact when threading the barrel to maintain the minimum length of 18.5 inches. the barrel length does not include the flash suppressor.

Make sure your gunsmith knows this!

Thanks Armedsask,
I've seen pics of this done, but I think all were from the US.
They state that the bbl is 19.8" long, I hadn't measured the brake.
I will wait untill I get it & then see if the local gunsmith thinks it's a good idea.
It would be sweet though:D

My barrel is threaded. As far as I know, it was one of the first done. Even before the guys in the US (AWB was still in effect). Simple job my gunsmith did in about 10 minutes. He didn't even remove the barrel as his lathe was small enough to feed the barrel through the back of the head stock.

good thread, interested in a 180B, but the factory muzzle brake doesn't have to be that loud.

So you can't change the grip?
I thought about cutting it off and mouting a FAL or AK grip some how but in the end I'll be further ahead to just make a new reciever. Changing the grip isn't really high on my list as this one works fine.

the muzzle brake can and is that loud I dont even like to shoot yotes with it cuz i dont wear ear plugs while hunting im getting a rooster 33 flashsuppresor on mine as we speak hope it helps the noise
