AR15 lowers accepting Glock magazines

OZZ... I don't see the K9GL on their website. They list 9mm AR's but not the version we're talking about.... either that or I just keep missing it.[/quotea]

I see your right , I thought those were the same ones we were talking about.
I guess those are a standard upper for a AR lower, Lets hope they do make the K9GL with a flat-top.

The factory just called me back to say they had made an error... the guns are backordered at this time... expect delivery for an order placed right now is about 4 months (which is about how long the export permits will take). The person I spoke to earlier mistakenly quoted me on the regular AR pistol caliber rifle, not the Glock Lower version.

The K9GL and the K40GL are available as a Flat Top... also, the uppers are interchangeable with each other... so it will be possible down the road to buy a 2nd Upper for the gun and have two calibers (this won't happen until they start to catch up with the orders).

I'll get a notice up on our website this weekend about final pricing and order procedures... about $100 or $150 deposit with order... an additional deposit when they are ready for shipment to Canada and final payment when they are here ready to transfer to you.

Thats good news 8) It will give some of us some time to save up the cash :)
I will be watching for your post on your web site.

OK, I'll stir this up a bit...what's the deal with the other AR's that shoot pistol rounds...can we get them as well? The K9 looks kinda cool....I assume they require Colt SMG style mags, but would these units interchange parts with regular AR's? It is an awfully nice idea to have glock mags, but having an AR that can convert between .223 and 9mm is even cooler. Price is about $100 cheaper (US) according to Olyarms . Not trying to rain on anyones parade, but hey...doesn't hurt to ask

I disagree  Nothing like an excuse to buy an entirely different AR...

Details are now posted on the website... thanks for being patient :)

Do you know how the flashhiders are attached? on the so called permanently attched FH. Like is the barrel threaded underneath? I really can`t make up my mind on which length would be better for the 9mm round.
Also, these would just use standard G17/18 mags?
Is the front sight a standard AR front sight that would co-witness with other rear sights on the flat-top model?

I'm assuming worst case... that the flash hider is welded and that taking it off will mean cut it, crown the barrel and thread it... Voila you have a 10.5" with thread-on flash-hider of your own choosing. Now... if they get here and it turns out the flash-suppressor can be removed without cutting the barrel then so much the better. Sorry I can't be more definitive.

The guns use standard Glock mags (G17 or longer for 9mm and G22 or longer for 40S&W).

I have no specific info on the front sights. You could send a detailed question to Olympic Arms (by e-mail) that way you'll get first hand answers... they have them there and are more familiar with the product.

Sorry I can't give you better answers but we just don't know until they arrive. Once we've got the first order in we'll know more...

There are a few methods used by American companies to extend the length of a barrel permanently. Sometimes its welded directly on, sometimes its a pin going from the flash hider into the barrel, and welded to the FH. In any case wont be too easy to take off.
