AR15 lowers accepting Glock magazines

Not that this helps, but there was someone, not MD that was putting an order to gether for Feb 06. But as my hard drive crashed, I've lost all the info.
It was in one of the Dealer threads.

Just got an email from Mark. A flattop 16inch in .40 came in and I'm next on the list. I can't wait...

Kudos to Questar for the quick turnaround.

I'll post some picks once it gets here and I top it off with an EoTech

Merry xmas to me :D

Pic's with mags...

Someone asked me for a couple of pictures that showed the gun with mags...

The shiny spot on the side of the receiver is flash reflection off some oil around the bolt locking/bar mechanism

And before you go crazy asking... we are working on getting a shipment of extended "pinned" 9mm & 40S&W mags... no details available yet.

Mark :)

I only put a few rounds through the one we had come in... it belongs to the customer and he was nice enough to allow me to try it. I was quite impressed. Worked very nicely and a lot of fun to shoot.

The darn thing is still sitting here... we've been waiting nearly three weeks for the Ontario CFO to approve the transfer. In fact we've got quite a stack of guns waiting for approvals... seems the Ontario CFO got quite heavily backed up and is way behind.

Is the flash suppressor fake? Is it threaded or permanently attached?

The flash suppressor is "real" but because of US laws it is permanently attached on the 11.5" CAR model.

US law requires that any barrel under 16" must have the flash supressor/compensator permanently attached, otherwise the rifle is considered an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) and it is then a Class III firearm.

US State Department will not approve Export Permits for SBR's except for law enforcement agencies or military end-users.

I am confused as to how the mag is released.

Just like a standard AR.

What is "different" is the addition of a connection (on the left side of the lower) which senses position of the Mag release and from that knows when to lock the bolt back (so the bolt locks open on the empty magazine).

Operationally the mag releases the same as a standard AR rifle.
