AR15 newbie question

So I impulsively bought a used Colt HBAR Sporter at a local shop last December. It has a 20" barrel and A2 flash hider and sights.

Do I need to make any modifications to install triangular handguards on it? It currently has the ribbed handguards but I prefer the look of the triangular ones.

Probably not, but pics of the front cap and delta ring would confirm it.

Thanks for the response. I kinda figured that would be the answer... I'll pull the handguards off tomorrow and post a few pictures.

I never noticed that the front cap is triangular. Is this a good sign? What about the ring at the back?

triangular hand guards can go on the A2 with out any modifications. Gotta love the SP1 look

I remember when I was looking for mine...man, they weren't easy to find at all. Took about 3 months and then cost more than I thought they should...just put a WTB add in the EE...eventually you'll get a bite...and nope, I won't sell mine
