Ar15 parts interchangeability ?

OK so im considering, gradually building a franken AR with a Noc cq 5,56 as the starting point.

So what i want to know is which of the following parts are better and how they are in terms of would they all fit together? milspec?

To start a spikes tactical lower.
Then im trying to decide between, a yankee hill, armalite, or CMMG (FA or Semi?) bolt carrier group?

Charging handle stag arms or spikes?

upper receivers armalite? yankee hill?

This is going to be done over time as i can afford it but i just want to know what would fit and work lol.

any advice is appreciated

IMHO it doesn't matter. All the parts are made to the same spec....they fit together.

ok thanks, im new to the AR stuff and i wasn't sure about commercial vs milspec... DPMS for example?

i should hope so, im running a mutt right now, mixed parts from broken down uppers armalite colt and dlask, they all fit snuggly together and so far work like a charm... i believe all are created equal so no prob mix and match...

There's lots of parts from many different manufacturers.
I won't bog you down with a hundred suggestions.

How about just one to answer your charging handle question.

A BCM Gunfighter Charging handle Mod 4.

The finest to date....IMO.

The only real part I would be picky about is making sure the barrel was chrome lined with a 1/7 or 1/8 twist.

One thing to be careful of...some uppers don't match some lowers because of different pin/hole sizes.

Stainless steel is also a good material, then choose a bullet and pick a twist that will stabilize it out to the ranges you wish to shoot. Inside 200m 55gr out of a 1/12 barrel gives up very little to 77gr out of a 1/7 (55gr M193 is also cheaper and easier to find).

If you're going to buy a lower and an upper, skip the Norc completely and build a whole rifle from scratch. The lower will be registered as a seperate rifle anyway. I had started to build a rifle from scratch when the Norcs arrived, hence I had already completed the lower. I looked at the options available at the time - short barrels were largely unavailable since at the time neither Armseast or ATR were producing their own and the ones that were available were way over priced (for my budget) so buying the Norc for it's upper was a reasonable solution - there were no sub $1000 uppers anywhere. That's not the case now, and there are some truly excellent deals out there on high quality 14 1/2 and shorter barrels. If I was sitting with an assembled lower (without an upper) right now I'd be looking to build my own, or pick one up from Questar. Conversely, you could buy a Norc and a sh*tload of ammunition and a reloading setup - that would make you a more skilled shooter, not just a guy with a shiney gun who has issues with accuracy (there are plenty of those guys at most ranges already)
