AR15 service rifle optics

Thanks Hungry.
$1250 for an ACOG or $900 for an Elcan does not fit my budgetary allowance considering our new baby boy has entered the world. I really appreciate all of your optical suggestions here folks and I will study the options very carefully.

Additionally, if you handload or travel to different matches, most BDCs are useless and frustrating - great for battle and 'minute of man' but a liability in competition (imho).

Thats a very good point. I hadn't given this sufficient consideration. I would be handloading with 62gr bullets. Thanks for the heads up on that one!

Richard I think that I am going take Hungry's suggestion and go with the Falcon menace for service rifle (might even have to buy two .....lol after all I am still quite attached to my dangly bits)

Or send it to Leupold and have them do the same for about $60...;)

Last time I sent a scope to Leupold, I had to send a Cdn. import permit so that they could get a US export permit, in order to get it returned.

YMMV.

I have had good luck with the Falcon Menace 1.5-5. After the end of next week, Hungry and I will likely have more to report. Maybe there will be more than a couple of these at NSCC.

A friend is getting a Millett, it will be interesting to compare the scopes side by side.

Notwithstanding the sticker shock, a Nightforce 2 1/2-10 could be an outstanding choice.
