Like that?

I had the same stock and after while I hated it went with a magpul solid as a rock

I use the LimbSaver. A little bulky but works great. Mine is paired with a Mesa Tactical recoil buffer. I took one look at the stock pad and its sharp edges and began the hunt for an AR pad. Honestly, I started to get a little self-conscious of the looks people would give me when I would ask for an AR recoil pad. :) The combo I have is unbelievably easy to shoot. I was amazed when I watched someone else shoot my 870 as it seemed to kick a lot when watching it, but amazingly little when shooting it. I suspect the Gel-like LimbSaver really helps dissipate the load evenly over the contact area. Very T-shirt friendly shooting.

Personally I wouldnt that on a shotgun but thats my feeling for me with the recoil I personally avoid product with snap on snap off.
Limbsaver makes a great product I have there stuff on otjer guns but they screw in.

Enidine Tactical Recoil Buffer. As Wetcoast said, Mesa has Enidine make them on contract, great idea. that paired with a high-mount AR-style setup, and not only have you lowered the weapon's firing position lower into your centre of gravity, but the buffer tube now gives you straight-back recoil reduction. No smacks in the cheek like the Knoxx setup, or similar low-mount/LEO buffer setups.

After that, a recoil pad really isn't necessary. I have a Magpul CTR with their Enhanced buttpad...but it was mounted before I considered the Enidine. Those slip-on rubber pads you get for the classic CAR stock aren't doing you a whole lot of justice. It's only a 1/4" of rubber.
