That is so funny about the handbag thing. But come to think of it the CX4 does sort of look like a super soaker water gun. Is there anything else in semi auto that shoots handgun rounds?

I enjoy, and shoot my 10.5", Aimpoint equipped, Armalite as the CQB end of the spectrum , but also use my 14.5" LMT with ACOG for mid-longer range 'games'.
My non-restricted, rebarreled CX4 in 9MM is a very different animal, but still
a blast to shoot at contact to 75 - 100yrds. Light recoil, 10 round mags...take anywhere ability...a great addition to anyone's battery!
I would recommend seeing if someone will let you 'have a go ' with a Storm before you buy...I find it 'compliments' my AR's, not replaces them!

I don't shoot it cause I love my hanguns. The AR was acuired from my brothers estate who was a collector.(nothing left except the AR) The AR is a closet Queen. One day it will go to support buying another pistol.

I have a BRS99. If I had to pick a gun on looks/ coolness factor alone, perhaps I'd use it instead. However ....

1. The Beretta allows for the use of 10 round mags, the BRS 5 round mags. :cool:

2. The Storm shoots more accurately at longer ranges. :dancingbanana:

3. The ergonomics of the Storm are better. :)

4. The Storm has a convenient, available and inexpensive series of rail systems, while the BRS has none. The lack of a top rail restricts the BRS to iron sights only, while my EoTech mounts very easily to the rail on my Storm, and is very effective. :cool:

Your taste in 'ladies handbags' notwithstanding, the Beretta Storm wins that comparison test hands down. :D

I cannot comment on the TP9 as I have never fired one.
 
I'm with Gothmog here, for sport shooting the Storm is the better gun, military pedigree not withstanding, and they use it to battle Cylons so it must be good.:cool: (compared to other pistol caliber guns, not ARs)

The only reason I would own a CX4 is to use the same mags as a Beretta handgun. Since I do not own a Beretta handgun, I won't buy a CX4.

For semi auto "pistol" carbines I know of the following.
Ruger PC9 (uses pistol mags)
Ruger 44 Carbine/Deerfield (think Upscaled 10/22)
 
I got my CX4 so that ! cold use my pistol ammo and 10 round mags...The only problem that I have encountered with bringing it to the range is that everyone wants to shoot the "machine gun".
